In the village of San Vittore:
There is a cafe/bar (of course) and a local shop.
The shop has its own baker who produces fresh bread every day and different speciality
breads for each day of the week. There is also a Hairdresser (the lovely Graziella,
who also makes wicked cakes), and vendors who visit the village (e.g. fruit & veg. on Fridays and fish on Wednesdays. There is also an excellent restaurant: 'Antica Trattoria della Selva'. All this is within walking distance. Apart from the amenities, there is beautiful countryside totally dominated by vineyards and our river: the Musone, which runs through the village.
Wine tasting and visit to a vineyard: Le
Marche is famous for its Verdicchio D.O.C. wine,
but there are also some very fine (and little known) red wines. Casalba
is situated in the centre of this productivity and we can introduce
you to some of the local producers. One entrepeneur in the local
wine making industry is Maurizio Ceci (Vignamato)
who, with his wife Serenella, continues the old tradition, whilst
continuously updating his methods to sustain and improve the quality.
On request, our guests may enjoy a visit to the 'Vignamato' vineyards,
including wine tasting and appreciation guided by either Maurizio
or Serenella.

Activities:
walking: Apart from the obvious general
exploring of the countryside, we are only 7 kilometres
away from Monte San Vicino where
there are walking itineraries to suit every level/time availability.
swimming: We
are spoilt for choice when it comes to swimming. Apart from our swimming
pool, you can bathe in the sea, the lake or one of the local pools.
Le Marche has 180 kilometres of Adriatic coastline, some of which
are renowned for their natural beauty. We are only 30 kilometres
away from the sea. You can take your pick amongst the beaches of Numana and Sirolo.
If you are looking for a more secluded and quiet spot, you might
want to try Portonovo. The Lake of Cingoli is
10 minutes away. Here there is something for everyone: you
can swim, row on the lake, take out a pedalo, or simply soak up the
sun on the beach and have a snack in the cafe. If you prefer to swim
in a pristine sparkling pool, again there is some choice. We are
less than 10 minutes away from the swimming pool complex Verde
Azzurro and
15 minutes from Eldorado which has several water
slides, one of which is the longest in Europe. (Try it the 'kamikaze'
way - Sally has with nephew Edy - check out the pictures.)
Also: fishing, cycling, motorcross, mountain bike and horse riding to
suit every level.
